At FCP we have developed the simplest way to accurately measure the distance from the head of the cartridge case to the face of the primer to see how far below the head face the primer is above, at or below the surface. This is the only checker on the market that does not require different collets or shell holders to check different cartridges.

The DOC 2.0 (Depth O Check 2.0) is made to be mounted on any bench, on our FCP CPS priming plate system, or even can be just held in the palm of your hand if you like.

The DOC 2.0 uses a “V Block” system for centering the cartridge case, it is made to measure anywhere from a .223 Remington all the way to a 50 BMG. This is the only checker on the market that does not require different collets or shell holders to check different cartridges. The coating on the DOC 2.0 is hard anodized and is the thickest anodize possible (type 2, class 3) to prevent the surfaces where the case rides from wear.

There are two, 10-32 flat head cap screws that are included to allow the mounting to the FCP CPS Priming plate. It can mount on the left side or the right side of the plate. It is recommended that after you prime, you simply move the primed cased over to the FCP before inserting in your loading tray to verify the primer is at the desired depth.

Many shooters will sort their primed brass by the depth of the installed primer so that during a match they know that their ignition timing will all be exactly the same to promote the best possible vertical dispersion.

You can “pry” up and down on the indicator point to get it to protrude above the face where the case is going to sit, to get the desired height. You also can loosen and adjust the entire indicator up, down, left and right to get the indicator point where it is desired.

To calibrate after you get your desired indicator height set, all you do is carefully slide your case in with no primer, slide it in till the indicator tip touches it and then rotate the dial of the indicator to read zero.

At this point you now have the indicator reading zero on the same plane as where the case sits.

You want the indicator tip to be positioned in and out to where the flash hole of the case once the case is fully inserted in the V Block is directly above the indicator point.

This tool is very easy to set up and use. The included instructions are very clear and easy to understand. Able to use multiple calibers easily is a plus and is at a fraction of the cost of other tools out there. The measurements are extremely repeatable. Takes the guess work out of setting your primer depth. Simple tool that just works !
