The MTAP System (Manual) and Autotap Upgrade Kit (Automated Add-On) is a precision-engineered bullet meplat trimming and pointing machine designed to bring uniformity and consistency to every bullet you process. This system simultaneously trims and points the meplat (tip) of copper-jacketed lead-core bullets, correcting tip inconsistencies and irregularities often found in factory bullets. This dual-action cutting process improves aerodynamic performance by creating uniform tip geometry and reducing drag variance across a batch of bullets. In the manual MTAP system, users operate the cutting cycle with a hand-held bullet holder. In contrast, the AUTOTAP upgrade automates this process with a motorized carriage.

Each system comes pre-configured for one bullet caliber of your choice, and is available in 115V (USA) or 230V (International) options. Additional caliber setups can be purchased separately for easy caliber switching.

While the MTAP is a powerful standalone system, it’s also fully modular and upgradeable. 

Every MTAP system is modular and backward compatible, from serial #001 to current production (SN: 200 and below). Any customer can upgrade at any time—no need to worry about being left behind with outdated technology.

The Autotap Upgrade Kit transforms your manual MTAP into a semi-automated system—without needing to purchase a whole new machine. Key features include:

• Hands-free operation – eliminates the handheld bullet holder tool.

• Consistent repeatability – ±0.001" across over 1,000 consecutive bullets.

• Automatic ejection – no need to manually remove bullets from the bullet holder after cutting.

• Auto cycling mode – the system continuously processes bullets without repeated button presses.

• Production throughput – processes up to 300 bullets per hour.

The MTAP System is not compatible with the IDOD or AutoDOD systems.
