The FCP Priming Plate Upgrade is an add-on feature that is made to work with the Primal Rights, CPS priming tool. The CPS Priming tool is the best priming tool on the market for the precision of competition priming.

Base Model -
Our basic kit includes the portable priming plate that is made out of MIC 6 tooling plate, which is then drilled, tapped and milled to accept all of our add-ons relative to the tool.
The basic plate features 4 hard rubber feet that are retained with stainless flat head screws. You can prime with the CPS priming tool at any location, which is a very sturdy system.
With our plate you do not have to mount the CPS tool to any particular bench and the tool becomes portable to where you can use it on whatever platform you like, and then put it away to clear bench space when you are done.
As aforementioned the priming plate is drilled and tapped for all of the add-ons that you can add that we supply. The plate can be configured for left and or right hand operation. Our indicator and counter assembly add-ons can also be added or bought together when ordering.
The plate size is about 10" by 8.5" and is 3/8" thick.
Indicator Attachment -
The indicator is the most important add on you can add.
Here are some reasons why and how it functions:
As we all know, brass rims and thickness of the rims are never machined to the consistency needed to use that as the datum for priming seating. Priming crush and seating depth is one of the most critical aspects of precision reloading. The CPS tool has a built-in adjustable stop for how far the primer is pushed in relative to the case rim. The problem is, if the case rim thickness varies, so does your primer seating depth. Also the depth of the primer pocket that is machined or punched into the brass when manufactured is also a variance to the case. What the indicator does is allow for the variable of case head thickness and primer pocket depth to be negated for the final priming process.
You will prime the brass as normal, and once you feel the primer stop moving, i.e. the primer cup is now seated fully in the primer pocket, you can watch the indicator and give exactly the same amount of crush on every primer/case relationship. Most reloaders will go .003"-.005"of cup crush.
The CPS priming tool by itself will not allow for any indication of how much priming crush you are doing, as it only datums off of the rim thickness, and does not account for the variables in the brass from piece to piece.
Dial Counter -
We also have a counter option available that is resettable so that you can see how many pieces you have primed and how many primers are left in your tube.
Depth-O-Check
At FCP we have developed the simplest way to accurately measure the distance from the head of the cartridge case to the face of the primer to see how far below the head face the primer is above, at or below the surface. This is the only checker on the market that does not require different collets or shell holders to check different cartridges. The DOC (Depth O Check) is made to be mounted on any bench, on our FCP CPS priming plate system, or even can be just held in the palm of your hand if you like.
The DOC uses a “V Block” system for centering the cartridge case, it is made to measure anywhere from a .223 Remington all the way to a 50 BMG. This is the only checker on the market that does not require different collets or shell holders to check different cartridges. The coating on the DOC is hard anodized and is the thickest anodize possible (type 2, class 3) to prevent the surfaces where the case rides from wear.
There are two, 10-32 flat head cap screws that are included to allow the mounting to the FCP CPS Priming plate. It can mount on the left side or the right side of the plate. It is recommended that after you prime, you simply move the primed cased over to the FCP before inserting in your loading tray to verify the primer is at the desired depth.
Many shooters will sort their primed brass by the depth of the installed primer so that during a match they know that their ignition timing will all be exactly the same to promote the best possible vertical dispersion.
You can “pry” up and down on the indicator point to get it to protrude above the face where the case is going to sit, to get the desired height. You also can loosen and adjust the entire indicator up, down, left, and right to get the indicator point where it is desired.
**When selecting the left or right hand option, please choose based on the side you are putting the handle on. If the handle is on the right side of the CPS primer then you will need the right handed version.

Dupytrens pain
I have dupytrens contracture in my hands so a priming tool that requires squeezing creates pain and swelling. I was having issue with the CPS tool because the dead stop did not take into account difference in primer cup or brass head thickness which does vary some. For this reason I had set it aside! After getting the CPS plate and attachments I have been able to seat primers all within .0005 of each other without any pain and can now prime lots of brass at one time when prepping for a big match.

CPS primer plate
I did not know what to expect. How ever when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. As I assembled the plate, I noticed the logic behind this base plate. It puts order into the priming process and speeds up a usually boring process into a streamlined process.
