The Trilogy L Repeater Action

The Trilogy repeater action is the continuation and advancement of the Paragon and Eminence competition actions that Blake Barrel and Rifle/F Class Products has been building for the last 3 years.  The Paragon and Eminence actions feature a list of proprietary and innovative designs and features that no other action has ever had before with being wrapped up into on action system, to which have lead to many National and State championship records and wins.  The Trilogy L magnum action assembly weighs 21 OZ complete.  This is not only the lightest stainless magnum action on the market, but also is lighter than most titanium actions on the market.

Here is a quick rundown on the Trilogy L specs:

Tenon = 1.125-18 tpi

Pitch Diameter of tenon = .885”-.889”

Headspace = .885” +-.0005”

Recoil lug = .250” thick, integral

Scope Picatinny rail = 20 MOA, integral

Mass with trigger hanger and trigger pins = 21.0 OZ

Material of receiver = 17-4, H900 condition

Material of lug portion of bolt = 4340, 42 RC

Material of rear portion of bolt = 7075 Hard Anodized

Here are some of the specs that are unique to the Trilogy that no other action manufacture offers in their actions:

1.      Micrometer adjustable trigger handoff timing adjustments down to the .001” with no need to remove the trigger and or hanger to make adjustments to fit any Remington 700 trigger. Has .040” total adjustment with .250” firing pin fall that is adjusted to be right in the middle of that, so you can go from .230”-.270” firing pin fall.

2.      The barrel tenon index is identical between all Trilogy actions.  Meaning you can have a barrel chambered remotely with the gunsmith never having the action in their hands and they can index the barrel and make sure engraving is in the correct spot on barrel.

3.      Barrel tenon size guaranteed to be within .0015” on pitch diameter.

4.      Integral 20 MOA rail and integral 1/4” thick recoil lug.

5.      Loading and ejection port that is 3.675 wide, but will eject a 4.100 length round/case.

6.      Interchangeable bolt head to swap between Lapua (.588 rim dia), Magnum (.545 rim dia) and .308 (.472 rim dia).  No need to order TWO bolts with two different cartridges, ignition timing, firing pins, etc.

7.      Billet machined extraction cam and integral bolt handle register, no silver soldering of bolt handles.  This also allows the user to swap between different lengths and shapes of bolt handles and bolt knobs as they desire.

8.      Standard long action Remington 700 footprint.

9.      Cross pin elimination.  Our firing pin fire control systems has eliminated any component that can move over time with the retention of the firing pin to the cocking piece.  Other actions either use a cross pin of a dowel pin or a roll pin that can “walk” out over time and make contact with the bolt shroud causing all sorts of ignition consistency issues.  Other manufactures use a set screw on top of a threaded firing pin and that set screw and threaded firing pin can move as well.  Our fully encapsulated snap ring design is designed to take hundreds of thousands of cycles with never a chance of movement relation from the cocking piece to the firing pin.

10.  M16 style extractor that features a set screw below the extractor to adjust extractor height without ever having to remove the extractor to do so.

11.  A hardened replaceable bushing that is pressed into the bolt shroud and guides the firing pin.  This bushing allows the hardened firing pin to be guided by the hardened bushing and never wear out or create friction between the firing pin and bolt shroud.  All other manufactures have the firing pin ride directly onto the bolt shroud material.

12.  ½-40 threads for the bolt shroud to the bolt to allow only .006” spring compression during opening of the bolt.  The amount of surface area that the two mating parts have is far more than any other manufacture to reduce wear over time.

13.  The material used in the Trilogy actions is the strongest available.  17-4 components that are hardened to 40-42 RC include the receiver, The bolt handle, the bolt stop, the extractor, and the cocking piece.  All of the 17-4 stainless components have a tensile strength of 190,000 PSI.  Titanium actions for comparison only have a ultimate strength of about 140,000 PSI.  Titanium also has a lower fatigue factor, ultimately is more prone to cracking when compared to 17-4.

14.  The bolt lug head is 4340 heat treated to 40-42 RC.  They are fully machined in the heat treated state to not allow any stress points in the final part.  The ultimate tensile strength is 200,000 PSI

15.  Fully EDM bolt raceways and bolt bore as well as the bolt release for the utmost precision machining available.

16.  Roller cocking piece that features a hardened roller on a hardened roller pin to allow ease of cocking on bolt opening.

17.  Billet in-house manufacturing of 4340 material firing pins from billet to allow for the highest strength, hardness, and fatigue resistance possible to which they are machined in the fully heat treated state at a ultimate strength of 200,000 PSI.

18.  The tenon diameter is 1.125 with a thread pitch of 18 threads per inch.  The 18 threads per inch allows the root (small diameter) of the barrel tenon to be larger than that of a 16 threads per inch receiver.

19.  The 1.125” diameter barrel tenon is .062” larger than all other Remington 700 and clone actions on the market.  This allows for larger cases such as the 300 Norma Mag and 338 Lapua to have much more material around the chamber for safety and strength reasons.

20.  The barrel tenon features a counterbored style for ease of feeding from magazines.

21.  The Trilogy L is made to accept AICS (single stack single feed) CIP magazines that are up to 3.850 in length.  They also accept internal magazine boxes up to 4 inch overall length.

Additional Specs:

1.      .720” diameter bolt body (approx. 3% increase over R700 and Clones).

2.      .995” diameter lugs (1% increase over R700 and Clones).

3.      .470” lug thickness (8 % increase over R700 and Clones).

4.      .515” lug length (depth) along bolt body (18.3 % increase over R700 and Clones).

In conclusion, the Trilogy L action is the ultimate long range magnum hunting action that not has more features and reliability in the lightest package available.
